Deliah created her first little dances when she was a child and since then she never stopped. Taking her first gymnastics class at the age of 4 and beginning to dance at her mother’s children’s dance group the age of 6, the first steps into dance have been taken early.
She then started taking Workshops with Joe Alegado (Limon Dance Company/Alvin Ailey II) who’s movement language still influences her work as she continues to assist him at his Workshops and dances in his choreographies for the Akasha Tanzensemble. After finishing High School, Deliah did an internship at the local dance school “Go Dance” and for the next 6 years she first studied at Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance (Munich), then Peridance Capezio Center (New York City) and lastly at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London) to complete her MA in Choreography. She’s been lucky to receive support through scholarships by the Iwanson-Sixt-Stiftung and the Leverhulme Choreography Award during this time.
While she was studying she also gained professional experience dancing for Awake Dance Company, NotetoSELF DanCe and the Akasha Tanzensemble and choreographing and performing for singer and producer Escence, Motion.Captured as well as in her own pieces. Among others she performed in choreographies by Joe Alegado, Inge Seefluth, Sean Feldman, Minka Marie-Heiß, Isabella and Regine Blum, Johannes Härtl, Pia Fossdal,Tsz Yan Cherry Leung, Dimitra Maltsaki and Roxy Bryant.
Aside from creating and performing, Deliah discovered quite early that she wanted to teach what she had learned and inspire others for the art of dance. In her workshops she mainly teaches Contemporary Jazz but other classes include Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz. Over the years she has taught classes at University level as well as beginner classes for young adults and children’s classes.
Recent teaching credits include University Tübingen, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Off the Rails and covers at Dance Attic and Pineapple Dance Studios. Before moving to London she had taught extensively across studios in Munich and Tübingen, Germany.
