SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

My research aims to better understand the physiological and cognitive underpinnings of dance and its impact on cognitive and mental health. In my PhD at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London (Movement and Performance Group), I use motion capture, heart rate monitoring, and mobile EEG to explore how dance uniquely contributes to cognitive and mental well-being. I aim to develop a movement-based intervention that is grounded in empirical evidence.
As a research assistant with the Metamotor Lab at the University of Tübingen, I had the opportunity to study movement awareness (motor metacognition), and I continue this work as part of the science communication project “Science on the Dance Floor”. The project brings together movement practitioners and cognitive neuroscientists and explores motor metacognition through dance.
